Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
